Lunchtime Supervisor

Broughton Primary School is seeking to appoint a dedicated and enthusiastic Lunchtime Supervisor to join our friendly and welcoming team. We are a happy, community-focused school situated just 3 miles from Kettering, with 204 pupils currently on roll. Our school boasts a range of engaging outdoor play areas, providing a fun and safe environment for children during their lunch break.

We are looking for an individual who is reliable, takes pride in their work, and enjoys supporting children in a school setting. The ideal candidate will have a cheerful, caring nature and a genuine interest in promoting positive play and social interaction amongst the pupils.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Supervising children during lunchtime, both in the dining hall and on the playground

  • Encouraging positive play, games, and social interaction

  • Ensuring the health, safety, and well-being of all pupils in line with the school’s policies and procedures

  • Reporting any incidents, accidents, or concerns to the appropriate staff member or a member of the senior leadership team

  • Assisting with clearing and tidying the lunch area after use

Hours of work:
5 hours per week – Monday to Friday, 12:30 pm to 1:30 pm (term time only)

This is a permanent position. Appointment is subject to proof of the right to work in the UK, satisfactory medical clearance, and an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check.

What Does a Governor Do?

As part of our Governing Board, you will work alongside the Headteacher and Senior Leader Team to ensure the long-term success of the school by:

  • Helping shape and approve school policies and strategy
  • Supporting leadership while holding it to account
  • Managing and monitoring the school budget and resources
  • Ensuring pupils are prepared for the next stage in education and life
  • Reviewing staffing structures to support our goals
  • Safeguarding effective risk management practices
