Meet Our PTA (FOBS)

The Friends of Broughton School PTA, also known as FOBS, is a registered charity. We are a volunteer group, mainly of parents, working to fundraise for 'extras' for the children at Broughton Primary School.

Fundraising activities include doughnut sales in the playground after school, discos at Broughton Village Hall, themed raffles, a sponsored run in the summer term, book fair fundraisers and sales of pre-loved items of school uniform all year round.

The FOBS motto is “It’s for the Children." We work with staff to help provide ‘extra items’ on the school wish list that might not otherwise be afforded: including tickets for a whole school trip to the pantomime at Christmas, a flagpole in the school playground, rainbow coloured all weather benches for the children to enjoy their packed lunches outside when the weather allows. There is also a FOBS gala in July after the school gala. It's a lovely family event, which not only raises money but is also lots of fun for everyone.

FOBS is always looking for helpers for events and in the background – perhaps you have a skill you can offer, or your employer may offer 'Matchfunding' (many companies throughout the UK offer employees the chance to boost PTA fundraising efforts by ‘matching’ the money they raise - it could help FOBS double the amount of cash it raises for an event).

There are so many ways that you can help out, no matter how small, FOBS needs you! Just an hour of your time can make a big difference. Join the FOBS volunteer team now!
