In Year 2, we have a number of weekly homework tasks set throughout the week.

Reading

Reading is integral to everything we do in school and we would strongly encourage the children to read with an adult for at least 10 minutes each night. Please write a comment in your child's Reading Diary each time they read at home. Children who have read 5 times in a week will be awarded 5 dojo points. Weekly 'Reading Excellence' certificates are also awarded to children who have worked particularly hard. 

Spelling

New weekly spellings are set on a Monday and a practice sheet is sent home on Monday afternoon. The children are tested the following Monday. 

Maths

Maths work is set on Thursdays to be completed by the following Thursday; this is linked to work covered in school. During the course of the school year, we will be learning the 2, 5 and 10 times tables. Practise of these multiplication tables at home would be very beneficial.
