Holdenby House 2019

Year 5 had a wonderful day out at Holdenby House last week, the children all looked fantastic as ‘workhouse urchins’.

We learnt a lot about life for poor children in Victorian times and the life of a servant employed at the big house. Even though Mrs Bumbridge and Mrs Crumpet were pretending to be very strict we had lots of fun and learnt lots more about the Victorian way of life.

Life was very tough for them, so we were glad to get back to Broughton at the end of a very happy day.
